Harold E. Osborn passed away Friday afternoon, April 11, 2014 of respiratory complications at the age of 83. Born in Chanute, Kansas and raised in Meade, Kansas, Harold was the son of Harry Earnest Osborn and Irene (Huffington) Osborn. An Eagle Scout, Commercial Pilot, and Kansas State University graduate where he earned a Bachelor’s of Science Degree. Harold served in the United States Air Force as 1st Lt. during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Patty Lou (nee Pennington) Osborn, his high school sweetheart with whom he raised two sons, Roger (Pat Oddo) Osborn, and Richard (Joy) Osborn, and two daughters, Linda (Curt) Older and Elizabeth Osborn in Indianapolis, Indiana. They were members of Aldersgate United Methodist Church and he worked as an aeronautical engineer for the Allison Division of General Motors for 34 years before retiring to Naples, Florida. He is also survived by his sister, Marcia Eads, 2 grandchildren, Brian (Cassie) Osborn and Rachael (Garner) Simpson and a great granddaughter, Cheyenne Osborn. While calling Naples his home, Harold was an active member of CERT (VeronaWalk Community Emergency Response Team), a volunteer for the Naples FreeNet, was an amateur radio operator and an avid airplane enthusiast. The family will receive friends from 10am to 11am Monday, April 14 at Fuller Funeral Home, 4735 Tamiami Trail East, where services will be held at 11:00 am. Final services will be held in Meade, Kansas where he will be laid to rest at Graceland Cemetery.
