Rose Marie Lyden

September 13, 1935 ~ May 13, 2016 (age 80) 80 Years Old
Rose Marie Lyden, daughter of the late Nora and James Brady, passed from this life peacefully on Friday, May 13, 2016 after a three year graceful battle with lung cancer. Born on September 13, 1935 in Yonkers, New York, she attended Washington Irving High School in Tarrytown, NY and was a graduate of The Eastern School for Dental Care in New York City.

Rose met John Lyden in their early years of high school and they were married on June 14, 1958.  Their marriage was blessed with four children and eleven grandchildren. She was a devoted and loving wife who kept everyone smiling with her colorful Irish wit.  As a result of her unselfish spirit and enormous heart, her influence will remain forever in the lives of her family and friends. She was a lifelong skier, an amazing putter on the golf course and enjoyed her many bridge groups.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children and their spouses: Barry and Kelly Lyden (Stowe, VT), Tracey and Al Puera (Danbury, CT), Kevin and Ryann Lyden (Charleston, SC) and Hillary and Jay Murphy (Hingham, MA).  She leaves a legacy of unconditional love in the lives of her grandchildren: Caitlin, Liam, Tyler, Shea, Phoebe, Finnigan, Daniel, Curtis, Lillian Rose, Noelle and Brady.  She was preceded in death by her brother, Jim Brady.  Rose will be missed by countless wonderful friends who knew her kindness and generosity well.

The Funeral Mass will take place at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 7775 Vanderbilt Beach Road, Naples, FL on Tuesday May 17th at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a life changing scholarship fund for first generation college students; Rose Marie Lyden Immokalee Fund at St. John’s University in Minnesota in care of Father Eric Hollas: PO Box 7222 Collegeville MN 56321.
