Sara Delle Storey

Sara Delle Storey passed away on May 8, 2016 after enduring cancer with courage, grace and dignity. She was born on July 30, 1952 in Cleveland, OH. Sara is survived by her husband, Allain Russo, and children Wyatt, Aileen (Chuck) Fremont, Shannon Russo (Robyn), Joel and Justin (Danielle). Adored grandmother of Quentin, Grace, Riley, Maryn, Noah, Alexander and Christopher.  Dear sister of Patrick (Barbara) and Bridget (Bill) Murphy. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents Tom and Delle Storey. Sara lived in many places across the country, making dear and deep friendships along the way.

Throughout her life she was devoted to helping others and compelled us all to do the same.  She went out of her way to be kind to others. In that spirit, she most recently launched Mentoring & More at Lely High School in Naples, a mentoring program that is designed to be mentoring, but so much more.  Her dream has become a reality as students who joined the program have excelled in high school and most have gone on to college.  In every case, the student is the first person in his or her family to attend college. The special bond that develops between the mentors and their students begins with the path to college and continues into the future.

Sara was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend.  She will be missed by her family, friends and all who knew her. The family wishes to express our gratitude to Florida Cancer Specialists and Avow Hospice. A private celebration of Sara’s life is planned. In lieu of flowers, family suggests that donations be made to Mentoring & More C/O Regions Bank, 4851 Tamiami Trail North, Naples, FL 34103.
