Carol Anne (Niemandt) WinsorMarch 9, 1953 ~ June 11, 2017 (age 64)
Carol Anne Winsor, passed away in the arms of her loving husband of 43 years, partner for 54 years, Peter, with their son Barry at her side at their home in Naples, Florida. She had suffered from the cruel illness of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, also known as Motor Neuron Disease and commonly as Lou Gehrig’s Disease for 3 years.
Carol was 64 years old when Jesus called her home to rest.
She was born on March 9th, 1953 to Patrick and Audrey Niemandt (both deceased) in Gwelo, Rhodesia, Africa. She leaves behind Peter her husband, Cynthia (Cindy) her daughter (42) married to Gary and her son Barry married to Laura. She also leaves behind her very special grand-children Jordyn (22), Tayla (19), Montana (17), Kayden (6 months), and her only Great-Grand Child Mason (1).
Carol also leaves behind her sister Patricia, wife of Henry (deceased) who lives in South Africa and her brother Robert, husband of Debbie and father to Ryan and Wesley, who live in the United Kingdom.
At a very young age of 9 Carol lost her mother Audrey to what we believe was also Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, leaving Pat to raise the 3 children. He did a fine job of this, and Carol absolutely excelled during her schooling career becoming Head Girl of Chaplin School in Gwelo, Rhodesia. One of the highlights of her high school days was meeting and shaking hands with the current appointed Prime Minister Mr. Ian Smith at the opening of the new Cinder Athletic Track at Chaplin High School and being chosen to represent her country on various sports teams. Carol represented her school, community and country to the highest level of standard and was known, loved and respected by so many.
She married Peter in 1974 and they had two children. They lived in Gwelo and relocated to Harare, Zimbabwe in 1981. In 1983, they moved again and relocated their family to Kariba, Zimbabwe where for the next 20 years they ran an extremely successful business known to many all over the world as Winsor Diesels. Carol was famous for her Polly’s Pies which still till today people write to ask for her secret recipe. Peter and Carol relocated to Naples in the United States of America to be with their daughter Cindy and her family in 2003. They then relocated back to the United Kingdom in 2011 where they helped their son Barry set up his marine business. Carol was the most organized and helpful person to anyone, and especially her children. She taught them and mentored them both well in business. Carol was sadly and selfishly diagnosed in November 2014 with ALS and in February 2015, she then relocated back to her home in Naples, Florida where she lived out the last days of her life.
Carol was always known for her beautiful smile..
