Donald "Don" P. Greet

Donald P. Greet, a resident of Bonita Springs, FL, died of natural causes on December 3, 2017.  He was born on February 22, 1930 in McKeesport, PA to the late Sara and Franklin Greet where he lived until moving with his family to Canton, Ohio.

Don received a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism from Columbia University and began his career as a newspaper reporter in Ithaca, NY. He then joined IBM's Communications staff spending much of his long and successful 30-year career  in the company's largest domestic marketing division headquarters in White Plains, NY.  Among his many assignments over the years, Don was notably an executive speechwriter and editor of various management communications.

He was an avid tennis player and sports enthusiast, especially horse racing, and loved opera, music, and theatre. But it was his voracious reading of everything from the Daily Racing Form to Winston Churchill's memoirs that honed his communications abilities.  A master of the English language, he was not only a skilled professional communicator, but also a notable wit as dry as the martinis he favored.  Don was a quiet, bookish intellectual who preferred to live alone with his books and music but will be missed by many with whom he has left lasting memories.

He is survived by his cousin Sue Waikem of Texas.

A private memorial service will be held in Bonita Springs on a later date.
