Ira (Ike) Rosen

1934 - 2024

Ike Rosen, age 89, of Naples FL and Simsbury CT died peacefully on Thursday, April 4, 2024. He was the husband of the late Barbara Eisenberg Rosen. Ike was born in Newark, NJ to David and Rose Rosen of Newark, NJ. 

He was a graduate of Weequahic High School, NJ, Montclair State College (B.A.) and the University of Maryland (M.A.). Ike was an Army veteran who worked most of his life in the insurance field in New Jersey and Connecticut and enjoyed being an Allstate Insurance agent for over 20 years with his dear friend and partner Bud Schultz. Ike was a life-long sports enthusiast and athlete, including being an all-state soccer goalie and avid golfer. After retirement, he and his wife Barbara spent a few winters on Hutchinson Island in Florida and later in life he relocated to Heritage Bay in Naples where he enjoyed living on the fairway and his Wednesday golf group.  While in Naples he met his longtime companion, Eileen Cameron. Ike and Eileen shared a love of sports, moviegoing, playing card and board games, spending time with family and friends, and summer visits to Monhegan Island, Maine.

Ike was known for his quick dry wit and practical jokes. He was also a voracious reader who discussing and recommending his favorite books to others.

He is survived by his son Ross Rosen and his wife Nicole Gammino of New York and Rhode Island, his daughter Randi Nader and her husband Lee Palmisano of Vernon CT, grand-children Charles Joseph, Tyler Stephen and Ryan David of Torrington, great grandson Eli Nader, and his companion Eileen Cameron.
