John A Ryan

John Allen “Jack” Ryan, 82, died at home on Marco Island February 16th after a long battle with brain cancer. Born September 5, 1934 in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Milton and Helen Walsh Ryan. Jack was a resident of Marco Island for 18 years, moving here from Newtown, CT. A proud veteran of the U.S. Army, after the service, Jack worked as a packaging engineer for many years at Pillsbury and Pepperidge Farms. He enjoyed boating as well as travel by car and by ship.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Carole (Schipper) Ryan; his children, Richard, MaryAnn, Steven and Matthew; his daughter-in-law, Martha; sisters, Pat Meehan and her husband, Joe, and Joanne Rinker;  brother, James and his wife, Marlene; brother-in-law, Paul Young and his wife, Irene; grandchildren, Katlyn, Jason and Nev; many nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. 

A memorial mass will be held at San Marco Catholic Church on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 10a.m. with final committal at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN. Detail are being finalized.
