Lois Saunders Doty

Lois Saunders Doty, 81, of Naples, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving spouse and children on August 18th, 2017. Lois had been battling cancer since January 2017.

Born April 25th, 1936 in Newark NJ, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Moses Saunders and Clara August Saunders. After graduating from Weequahic High School and attending the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Arts, Lois went on to became a successful business owner of a horse training and boarding stable in White House Station, NJ.

After relocating to Florida, her interest in marine fish and salt water tanks inspired her to develop Tenera Fish Food, Inc. a nationally recognized fish food brand. Lois enjoyed hobbies such as raising orchids, boating, traveling, Mahjong, and needlepointing.

Friends and family could always count on her loving support whenever needed. Lois talked about her greatest life goals which were to "ride horses and to be a mother". She accomplished those dreams and raised five loving children. In addition, Lois has eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. She is survived by her devoted husband, Murph Doty; her children and their spouses, Debbe and Danny, Gary and Linda, Steven and Colette, Jessica and Raven, and Jodi; as well as her sisters, Bobbie and Elaine.

A private celebration of life for immediate family held August 21, 2017. Tuesday, August 22, 2017, friends are invited to join the family for Shiva at the home of Debbe and Danny Schertzer from 6pm to 9pm.
