Frank and June, I was so sad to see that Marianne had passed. I read her life and was very impressed, I didn't realize her backround was so full of such success. She had
a happy life and that is wonderful, doing what you love to do and a happy retirement too.
Thinking of her daughters and grandchildren .

Holly and Amber,
In the last two weeks, as chair of the search committee I have been welcoming new potential leaders to campus. I couldn't help but remember the warm welcome and the graciousness with which your Mom greeted me on my interview 21 years ago. Marianne was an incredible mentor to me and a friend. I cannot tell you how often I quote her many wise words. She was the first true mentor I had as a teacher and over all these years, still the best. She had high standards for her faculty but she matched those with even higher ones for herself. She and I traveled some together when she was Dean and I was Director (a job she encouraged me to take and supported me through). I remember her always checking in with one or both of you on those trips; you were never far from her thoughts. Despite the many accomplishments she had as a nursing leader and a true change agent in nursing education (she truly raised the bar at USM), she always considered the two of you as her most important focus. We had many wonderful times together and I am very, very saddened by her death---too soon! You both are in my thoughts. She loved you both ferociously! Su

I have worked with Amber @ Accenture for many years and she always had wonderful stories about her lovely Mom, Holly and the dogs especially during the time they lived in Maine. Ms. Marianne was obviously a very special woman....smart, caring, giving and full of life. Amber is just like that, and I'm sure Holly is too. She left you guys a wonderful legacy and no doubt she will be sorely missed!
Please take comfort in knowing that your Mom is resting well, and has the opportunity for the promised resurrection to a paradise earth where sickness and death will be a thing of the past and will not even be brought to mind.- what a time that will be for the many family members we have lost. John 11:25 - Psalm 37:11 & 29 - Rev 21:3-4. In the meantime, I offer my heartfelt condolences to Amber, Holly and all the family - Agape.

Marianne was a very special, important person in my life. She always had my back and was always very supportive, even when she was aggravated with something I had done. I am grateful for the opportunity to have known her for so many years. My life was enriched by our relationship and a part of me is lost with her passing.
