Paul E. Ligman

Paul E. Ligman, 86, went to be with the Lord on November 22, 2017 at Naples Community Hospital after several years of declining health. He passed peacefully with his wife and son by his side. Paul will be forever missed by his loving wife of 66 years, Lois; sons, Gary (Laura), Michael (Dianne), and Craig (Erinne); daughter, Lori Downs (Jim); 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Paul was born to Joseph and Margaret Ligman in Beloit, Wisconsin. He was dedicated to his faith, his wife and family throughout his life. He joined the United States Navy and was a veteran of the Korean War. After proudly serving his country, he and his family moved to Milwaukee where he attended and graduated from Milwaukee School of Engineering. The family spent the next 36 years in Kokomo, Indiana where Paul served the Lord at Redeemer Lutheran Church as well as having a long and successful career with General Motors.
After retirement, Paul and his wife, Lois, moved to Naples, Florida in 1990 where the community of Faith Lutheran Church has been the cornerstone of their lives. Over the past twenty-seven years of residing in Naples, Paul was blessed with many great neighbors he also called friends.
Paul was preceded in death by his father, mother, brothers, Joseph and Arthur Ligman as well as grandson, Tanner Downs.
The family wishes to thank the many extraordinary healthcare professionals that cared for Paul over the past years, including the staff at DaVita Dialysis Center on Davis Boulevard.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 12:00 noon at Faith Lutheran Church, 4150 Goodlette Road North. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Paul’s name to Faith Lutheran Church or the American Diabetes Foundation.
