Shiela. It is with sadness that upon returning from a Franklin, N. C. vacation, I learned of Peters passing. My fond memories are of total respect in my dealings with you and Peter as my clients. When you are caught up on personal matters, please call me for lunch. Perhaps we can even trade alternative care treatments as well.

Fondly

Marty Brown

I would like to express my heartfelt condolences to the family of Pete Schutz, a man I had the privilege to know and work with at Cummins Engine Co.
Pete was an absolutely amazing leader who would explain technical details about engine design and how it affected trucks and drivers in simple terms non-engineers could understand. He was the most brilliant marketing engineer I have ever met, and I never will forget one of his mantras "Nothing beats cubic inches of displacement" in the days before turbocharging became really sophisticated.
All of us younger engineers and planners who worked at Cummins in the 1970s respected Pete and his marketing savvy He will be remembered as an outstanding
leader.

I have told the story over and over about how Peter connected for me the workings of that part of my business that I knew was there but couldn’t see, like the dark side of the moon. I remember being so stunned when he first spoke to my TEC group at Lithocraft in New Albany, Indiana – my mind was processing so furiously what he was saying that I couldn’t keep up with his words. At one point, I begged him to stop and back up; it embarrassed me! I was shot after that morning in March of 1999.

My hat is off to a great mind and a great man. I owned about 8 Porsches and I loved the ones I had from the '80s, Peter's era. I think Peter came twice more to speak to our group. He was one of the very best of the 100s of talks I have heard over almost 20 years. May he rest in peace!

With sorrow I just read in the news that Peter has passed away. I want to express my condolences. I met Peter and Sheila while he was president of Porsche and looking for a manager of manufacturing. I made several trips to Stuttgart and one with my wife Kathy. We have such good memories of both of you. Later after he retired he stayed with us when giving a talk in Dayton Ohio. Another chance to have the joy of being with him. He was such a positive man and seemed to enjoy people and life. Our memories are vibrant.
Sheila we keep you in our prayers as this will be a great loss to you personally for sure.
.
Blessings. May his memory be eternal!
