Phyllis Elaine Scully

Phyllis Elaine (nee Newton) “Penny” Scully of Naples, FL passed away in her sleep at 2:10 AM on January 9, 2018. She was born on December 19, 1936 in Warren, RI to Charles and Lois Newton. She married Daniel F. Scully, Jr. on January 21st, 1961 whom she now joins in Heaven. She is survived by two of her sons, Karl (Anette) Scully of Evans, GA and Sean (Bethany) Scully of Naples, FL; 6 grandchildren Dominique (Andrew) Gravett, Tara, Melissa, Luke, Jackson, and Andrew; 3 great grandchildren Aiden, Aleyna, and Aven; one sister Charlotte (Jeff) Jacquart; one sister-in-law Helene (Douglas) McIntosh; 3 nieces Michelle, Jennifer, and Laura; three nephews Jeffrey, Ian, and Seth; several cousins. Predeceasing Penny are her father Charles, Mother Lois, Husband Daniel Jr., son Daniel III, sister-in-law Mary Carol Scully, and nephew Douglas McIntosh Jr.

Penny grew up, became a Registered Nurse, married Daniel Jr., and started a family in Rhode Island. She and Daniel moved their family to St. Louis, raised three sons, finished their careers, and retired to Naples, FL. Penny was an avid reader who loved to be with her family and friends, listen to music, and spend time on the beach.

The memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM on Friday, January 12, 2018 at Fuller Funeral Home, 4375 Tamiami Trail East, Naples, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Avow Hospice at www.avowcares.org.
