Robert Dallas Adams Jr. of Bonita Springs / Naples FL.  passed away peacefully at the age of 83 on March 15th 2024 at Avow hospice. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 62 years Ruth Anne Adams nee Kent.

He is survived by his four children Dallas Adams III and his wife Joy; Andrew K. Adams; Elizabeth A. Carroll and her husband Matthew; Philip C. Adams and his wife Sandra.

His 11 grandchildren Brandi, Kelly, Amanda, Andrew Jr., Kierstin, Rebecca, Matthew, Philip Jr., Ryan, Madison, and Victoria.

His 7 great grandchildren Loretta, Marley, Elliot, Scarlet, Amelia, Paul III, and Jon Luke.

His brother Donald Richard “Pat” Adams of Madison KY.

He is preceded in death by his parents Robert Dallas Adams and Carolyn Adams nee Rose.

Dallas graduated from Del Hass High School in Bristol Township PA. After graduation he and Ruth were married and he enlisted in the Air Force. He served 4 years, including a tour in Vietnam where he was awarded a commendation for creating a ramp used to speed up the loading of injured soldiers on to aircraft for evacuation. After returning home, he continued to serve his country in the Army Reserves.

He spent the next 40 years working in the steel mills of Falls Township PA., volunteering with the William Penn Fire company, Coaching Middletown Athletic Assoc. boys’ soccer and raising his family.

He was a member of the VFW, the American Legion and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

After retiring from the steel industry he moved to SW Florida. He spent time working at a driving range where he would greet customers with a smile and a bucket of balls. When the range closed, he stayed in the golf game maintaining the fairways and greens at Lely Golf Resort; offering advice to anyone that would listen.

He loved to do DIY home improvement projects, however his slogan of “A blind man would pay a million dollars to see it!” left Ruth scratching her head sometimes.

He will be remembered as a kind soul who had a million stories to tell and was happy to share them with you.
