Thelma Harris Tarlow (“Skip”) of Naples, FL and formerly of Marion, MA, passed away
April 28, 2017. Born December 30, 1926 to Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Harris of Fultonville, NY,
Thelma was the fifth of eight children. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased
by brothers William, Wallace, Thomas and Benjamin and sisters, Virginia and Marie.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur S. Tarlow; sons, Thomas, Andrew and Arthur, Jr.
and his wife, Janet; brother Evans Harris and his wife, Patricia; grandsons Benjamin
and Thomas Tarlow; daughter-in-law, Kathleen Tarlow; and niece, Linda Maddy.
Skip graduated from the Knox School for Girls in Cooperstown, NY and Wheaton
College in Norton, MA. A talented craftswoman, she had a needlepoint business for
many years. She also worked in marketing in her husband’s company. She and Arthur
enjoyed golf, sailing, world travel and good times with family and friends. They were
members of the Kittansett Club in Marion, MA as well as Audubon Country Club and
Pelican Bay Club in Naples, FL. Skip’s personal pastimes included needlework and
sewing, passions she pursued throughout her life.
Skip’s effervescent, youthful spirit drew people to her, young and old. Her many
friendships were marked by her genuine compassion for those around her. She will be
deeply missed.
A memorial gathering will take place on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at The Marbella,
7425 Pelican Bay Blvd., Naples, FL at 5:00pm in the Barcelona Room.
