I just came across William's name and bio and was saddened to see it was his obituary. Early next month is the 35th Anniversary party for the Coalition to Save Hempstead Harbor and I was thinking back of all the good times and wonderful people who would attend, which prompted my search. Helene and William were a very big part of every celebration.
About two decades have passed since I last toasted the Coalition with Helene and William but I have fond memories of them as a beautiful couple.
My condolences to the entire deNeergaard family with special regards to Amy, the prettiest girl to ever attend the Village School.

It is with sadness that Beryl and I have to say farewell to William, a dear friend. However, we celebrate a life filled with accomplishments reflected in business, community, charity, and friendships. Most important to him was his family - his dear wife, Helene of 27 years, along with his beloved children, Amelia, William Jr., Cathrine, Ann and his four grandchildren.
