Barbara G. Hennig

Barbara G. Hennig, 93, passed away on March 10, 2023. Barbara was born on August 10,1929 in Norfolk, Virginia to Howard and Elna Hill. She grew up in Washington D.C. and was married to Donald W. Gunnell for 43 years while living in Northern Virginia. Together they had 5 daughters, Vicki, Diane, Lynda, Anita, and Nancy and 9 grandchildren, Jane, Jessie, Matthew, Charlie, Sean, Joshua, Jeffrey, Jonathan and Christine and 12 great grandchildren and another one arriving in July. 

After Donald’s passing, Barbara married Hugo Hennig. They moved to Naples, Florida and enjoyed traveling together. Barbara was a kind and gentle soul with a beautiful smile who loved spending time with family and friends, reading, walking, swimming and playing cards. Most importantly she was a devout Christian and she made an positive impact on all who met her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace.

Funeral services will be held at Faith Lutheran on Saturday, March 18th at 10am with reception to follow in the fellowship hall.
