Betty Delores Blandford

Betty Delores Blandford passed away on June 26th in Naples, Florida.

She was born on January 25th, 1930 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Jacob Borcye and Julia Tasky. Betty married Marvin Blandford in 1950. The young couple and their three adolescent sons moved to Petoskey, Michigan in 1969 to help establish Sysco /Frost Pack -Petoskey.

Marvin and Betty started coming to the Naples area in the late 1970’s, gradually becoming full time residents. After Marvin’s passing in 1980, the year of their 50th anniversary, Betty met Julie Wierenga, a grand traveling partner.

Betty was a blessing to all who knew her. She was generous, attentive to details and had the right touch of independence.  She remains the binding glue for her sons; Brian (Annie), David (Debra), Matthew (Nancy), ten grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren.

A family gathering will be held at a later date.  Memorials in Betty’s name may be made to Avow Hospice, 1095 Whippoorwill Lane, Naples, FL 34105.
