Carol Marsh Dimond

Carol Mantia Dimond, 69, of Naples, passed away on August 10, 2018 surrounded by her loving husband, Bob Dimond and devoted step daughters, Michele Keating of W. Lafayette, IN and Melinda Hendrickson of Carpentersville, IL. She is also survived by her stepson, Mark Dimond of N. Grafton, MA.

Born in Winchester, MA where she attended high school, Carol went on to Northeastern University in Boston. After college she joined a Boston area publishing company as an advertising representative. She and Bob met in Boston when he was visiting from Chicago on business. After a courtship, she moved to Chicago to join him.

Carol and her husband took up residence in Buffalo Grove, IL, during a period when he served as publisher of numerous business magazines for a major publishing company in Chicago. In that role he traveled throughout the country and the world. Carol frequently joined him on those trips supporting him by working trade show booths and joining her husband in social meetings with key advertising clients and their spouses.

Carol was known for her flair and talent for style and fashion. At one point in her life she made a career of decorating plain mirrors with a startling array of sea shells creating striking designs which she marketed through local Naples shops to the delight of her customers.

In the early 90's she managed a Lily Pulitzer store on Third Street in Naples, selling ladies' wear with the distinctive styles and colors of the Pulitzer brand.

Carol's great love in life was for animals, particularly cats. She often aided her mother in efforts to attract feral cats and have them neutered. Then she would try to find homes for them. She ended up adopting Whitey and Blackie over 10 years ago; they still roam the Dimond residence and lanai in Lakewood.

Carol will be dearly missed by many. In addition to her husband and children, she leaves numerous step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara True who passed away in January 2018.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 15th, 11:00AM at Fuller Funeral Home, 4735 Tamiami Trail East, 34112 where a reception in her honor will take place immediately following the service.
