Charles H Schlitz, 88, formerly of Kenosha, passed away in Naples, FL on February16, 2020.
Charlie was born in Union Grove, WI to Rose (Jones) and Sylvester Schlitz on May 19, 1931. He attended school in Kenosha and furthered his education with trade classes in mechanics and engineering. He had a long and varied work history that started in his youth with setting pins at Guttormsen’s and included working as an operation engineer for Peter Ploskee Construction, crane operator for Camosy Construction, a self-employed mechanic and owner of Charlie’s Pub. In 1986 he retired to Naples where he kept busy helping others with home remodeling / repairs, was active in his home-owners association, and created Essence of Naples perfume. He loved flying, boating, playing the organ, home projects, and sharing stories with friends. Charlie was always willing to help others and share his expertise.
Charlie is preceded in death by his parents; daughter Laura Smart; sister Gloria Lopez; brothers, Harold, Wayne, Richard; and grandson John Smart.
Charlie is survived by his children, Sandy Adamson (Terry Doherty), Debbie (Jim) Croff, David (Lynda); sisters, Bertha Kempin, Rita (Rich) Mascolino; brothers, Jerry (Joan), sister in law Enie; special nephew Ed Segerstrom; grandchildren, Clint (Kim) Adamson, Bart Adamson, Melissa (Curtis) Johnson, Jennifer Thomsen; and great grandchildren, Aidan, Logan, Sariah, Darrell, Jasaiya, and Laniyah; along with many nieces, nephews; good friend and neighbor Bob Dimond who was like family and LuAnn Himebauch who was like a daughter to Charlie.
Services for Charlie will be held at a later date.
