Charmaine S. Powers

We are sad to say that Charmaine S. Powers passed away peacefully while staying at her daughter’s home in Naples, FL on 15th of  January 2023.

Charmaine was born in Atlanta, GA to parents Louis Joseph Soulier and Louise Williams Baker Soulier.  She attended Sullins College in Bristol, VA and received her degree in Dental Hygiene at West Liberty College in Mississippi.  After graduating, she worked in the US Public Health services and loved her job.

Charmaine’s children with her husband James E Powers, Lisa, Charmaine, Leslie and Gigi brought her much joy.  In 2016 after the death of her husband James, she married Gordon Stan Harmon whom she met at the Naples Bridge club.

She was an active golf and tennis player and loved entertaining, dancing and swimming.  However, her passion was duplicate bridge.  In her lifetime, she achieved Sapphire Life Master level playing the game she loved with enormous skill.

Charmaine is survived by her children Lisa and Rainer Schepers, Charmaine Powers, Leslie and Mike Faircloth and Gigi and Fritz Wardlow.  She has six grandchildren, Kai Schepers, Clay Crews, Paul Crews, Austen Costa and Sonja Morgan Wardlow.  She also has five great grandchildren, Tristan, Aidan Scott, Lynnlie Josephine and Charlee Sue and Stella.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Williams Catholic Church located at 601 Seagate Dr. in Naples, FL on February 2, 2023 at 9:45 am  followed by a celebration of life  in the Church Parrish Hall.

In the late spring, there will be another service in Princeton WV at the Seavers Funeral Home followed by a graveside service at Roselawn Cemetery.  The date will be announced later.
