Doris L. Herbring, 88, passed away peacefully in the Chateau at Moorings Park on Monday, November 29, 2021. She was born in Bridgeport, CT in 1933, and was raised in Easton, CT; and later lived in Toronto, Canada, and in Fairfield County before moving full-time to Naples, FL ten years ago.
Doris is survived by her devoted husband, Henry Herbring, of sixty-five years.
Doris was predeceased by her younger brother, Richard Pulie, who passed away in 2009. She is lovingly survived by her children, Mary Musk and Sue Ann Evans, and son-in-law Matthew Evans; grandchildren Ashley Musk, Bryan Musk (wife Alicia), Christopher Musk, Michael Evans, and Katherine Evans, and great-grandchildren Henry Musk and Amelia Musk.
Mrs. Herbring graduated from Dumbarton College in Washington, D.C. where she studied American History. After raising a family, she was a history teacher and later in life taught English as a second language. Doris was a voracious tennis player, skier, and avid bridge player. She loved cooking, gardening, hosting parties, attending concerts, singing in the church choir and serving as a Eucharistic minister, and when living in Toronto was a committed fundraiser for the Canadian National Ballet.
The family will receive friends this Saturday, December 4, at 11 a.m. at Saint William Catholic Church, 601 Seagate Drive in Naples. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Doris Herbring may be made to Our House Foundation, ourhousenj.org
