Dorothy Anne Galiani

Dorothy Anne Galiani, age 79, of Naples passed away early Sunday morning, February 21, 2021.

Dotty was born June 22, 1941, in Astoria (Queens), NY, the older daughter of the late Roy and Dorothy Moyes.  She loved her life, her family, and her friends and enjoyed them all with open arms and an open heart.

Dotty enjoyed traveling with her husband and spending time with her friends enjoying cocktails and dining at their favorite place, Naples Heritage Golf and Country Club.  The couple went on numerous cruises and trips to both Europe and Canada.  She especially enjoyed her many family vacations with children and grandchildren to Disney World.

Dotty was also an avid sports fan, cheering on her beloved NY Giants with Bernie and her children at home games for over 3 decades, including enjoying 2 Super Bowl victories in person. 

Before retiring to Naples, Bernie and Dotty lived for 50 years in Levittown, NY.  Dotty raised her children while spending time quilting, playing tennis and golfing at Hempstead Country Club where they were members.  Dotty and Bernie were blessed with so many special, lifelong friendships there that they nurtured throughout their lives.

Dotty is survived by her cherished husband of 59 years, Bernard L. Galiani; 2 sons, Jeffrey (Jackie) of Trumbull, CT and Christopher (Cindy) Galiani of Warren, NJ, and one daughter, Stephanie (Paul) Ashley of Maywood, NJ.  She had six beautiful grandchildren whom she adored and watched grow with great pride: John and Jennifer Galiani (Jeff), Michael and Alina Galiani (Chris) and Mary and Joseph Ashley (Stephanie).

She was predeceased by her younger sister, Jacqueline Parker.

A Catholic funeral mass will be held on Thurs Feb 25th at 1:30pm at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Naples, with internment to follow at St. Agnes columbarium.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her name to the St. Vincent DePaul Society at St. Agnes, or St. Matthew’s House, also in Naples, FL.
