Edward White Collins

Edward White Collins passed away on July 28th surrounded by his family. Born in Peoria, IL to Bessie Collins Davenport, he attended high school in Springfield, and resided in Park Ridge, IL until moving to Naples, FL.
He attended the University of Illinois where he was a member of Phi Kappa Psi fraternity. He met and married his wife of 63 years at U of I before they moved to Munich, Germany where he was a C119 pilot in the Air Force.
His career began with Signode Corp. where he eventually became VP of Corporate Management and Administration/part owner. Signode was purchased by ITW and Ed continued as one of the VPs until his retirement.
His joys in life were his family, golf (PRCC, Windstar, and CCNaples), fishing (Castabar and ScratchGulfer), his dog Bogie, and Happy Hour (Smirnoff). He is survived by his wife, Doris and 3 daughters - Kim (Charles) DiFranco, Linda (Charlie) Maetzold, and Karen (Robert) Ekman; his 8 grandchildren – Paul, Chuck and Christopher, Andy, Alex, Kelly, Brad and Kyle; and 6 great grandchildren.
Donations may be made to Smile Train, WGA-Evans Scholars in Golf, IL and Avow Hospice in Naples. Private family services will be held at a later date in Park Ridge; but for now ‘there’s one more angel in heaven and one more star in the sky.”
