Elaine Diane Rohlin, 88, of Naples, FL passed away June 30, 2022 with her family by her side. Elaine is survived by her two daughters: Diane Thomas of Naples, FL and Stephanie Mishra of Menlo Park, CA, and her two grandchildren, whom she loved dearly, John Edward Thomas and Katie Ruth Mishra. Elaine is predeceased by her loving husband, Edward Rohlin and precious son, Gregg Rohlin.
Elaine was born to the late Myrtle Nelson and Victor Wittenstein on November 10, 1933 in New York City and received a BS in Education from The University of Vermont in 1955. After college, she taught second grade and then met her soon-to-be husband, Ed Rohlin, at a beach party. They married in November 1956 and lived in New York, Atlanta and Milwaukee before settling in Bloomfield Hills, MI. Those years in Michigan were always very special to her, raising three children, entertaining friends and family with Ed, and playing tennis with her girlfriends. She was known to make an incredible chocolate chip cookie and host fantastic dinner parties.
Years later, Elaine, Ed and their children moved to Wilmette, IL, a suburb of Chicago. They traveled extensively, including wonderful trips with her late sister, Gail Esposito, visits to New York to see her brother, Myles Wittenstein, and many trips to Ft. Lauderdale, FL to see her parents. Elaine and Ed were married for 30 years until his passing in 1987. She will be deeply missed and her love will live in our hearts forever.
