Elizabeth Fuller Davis

Elizabeth Fuller Davis of Naples, FL, known to friends as “Betsy”, passed away on Friday, March 26, 2021.  She was born in Washington, DC on December 10, 1933, the daughter of Col. William A. and Dorothea R. Fuller.  She grew up on Army bases and during WWII, she lived in Santa Fe, NM with her Mother, brother and sister while her Father was stationed overseas where he died.  The family moved to Lynchburg, VA and Betsy attended Stuart Hall and graduated from Hollins College. 

After graduating, she moved to N.C. where she met and was married to Richard K. Davis for 29 years and had 3 children.  She worked at Ravenscroft School as the Lower School Secretary for many years where she made lifelong friends.  She was also a founding member of the Wake Forest Book Club.

After retiring, in 1997, she moved to Naples, FL.  She decided she missed working with students and became a substitute teacher and later was hired fulltime as an assistant at Naples Park Elementary.  She enjoyed working with the students and made lasting friendships with the staff.

She was active at Trinity-By-The-Cove Episcopal Church where she loved helping with the Altar Guild and the Church Mouse.  She was formerly a member of the NSCDA.

She loved to travel, go to the beach, take care of her house and plants, art and calligraphy.  She was fun loving, quick with a joke and a smile and was a social person enjoying gatherings with family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Col. William A. Fuller and Dorothea R. Fuller and her brother, William Fuller.  She is survived by her sister, Dorothea Fuller; her 3 children:  Richard Davis (Cecilla), Elizabeth Treanor (Gregor), John Davis (Jessica); her 4 grandchildren:  Thomas Davis (Alyson), William Davis (Lauren), John Treanor (Susan), Robert Treanor; 2 great grandchildren:  Evelyn Davis & Nathan Davis.

A memorial service to celebrate Betsy's life will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Trinity-by-the-Cove Episcopal Church. The service will also be streamed through the church's website.
