Elsie Kaminker

Elsie Kaminker of Bonita Springs FL, formerly of Hamilton Township, Pennington, and Long Beach Island, NJ, died at home on November 12, 2023. Born on January 8, 1934, to Italian immigrants, Elsie spent her formative years in Chambersburg. Elsie graduated from Trenton Central High School in 1951. Before marrying her husband Ken in 1955, she was an airline stewardess during the golden age of commercial aviation.  After she married her husband, they moved to Coronado, CA to begin his naval career, where she spent the next 4 years. After the military, her husband entered medical school, and relocated back to PA.

As a doctor’s wife, she chaired numerous charitable functions for St. Francis Hospital, and oversaw the administrative duties of her husband’s practice. When her husband retired in 1989, she became actively involved in community organizations and volunteering. She believed in serving her community and giving back where she could. Elsie also enjoyed summers on Long Beach Island, her family, reading, crossword puzzles and staying mentally active.

Late in life she moved to Bonita Springs, FL. She was active in her golfing community, Vasari, where she played bocce, golf, and tennis (up until 88!). She was an active parishioner at St. John the Evangelist Church where she regularly participated in organizing church functions, hosting CCD and being a greeter.

She is survived by two children, Samantha and Matthew Kaminker,  two grandchildren, Jaclyn Bazsika and Tyler Pae, and one Great-Grandson Aiden.

Funeral services will be held in New Jersey.
