Ewald passed away in Naples Florida. He is survived by his loving wife, Maria, and his children Scott, Greer and Gregg, 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Born to Lydia Humel in Bronx, NY, he earned a BS degree from Wagner College and MBA from City College, NY.  He served 44 years in the US Air Force, retiring in 1989 as a Colonel. In his professional life, he worked for J C Penney, Singer as National sales manager and various computer companies. Ewald and Maria have enjoyed living in Naples since 2000.

USAF decorations include Legion of Merit, Distinguished Flying Cross, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal with Clusters and 14 other decorations. A Mason for 70 years, he was master of his Masonic lodge and District Deputy Grand Master of the 2nd District of Manhattan of the Grand Lodge of NY.  He served as Military Officers Assoc. SWF Pres., Reserve Officers Assoc. VP, and was active in many Naples associations. A natural leader and wonderful man, he was an inspiration to all of the young officers he worked with. Ewald will be sorely missed by those who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, please honor Ewald through a donation to Shriner's Hospital for Children. He will be buried at Arlington Nat'l Cemetery, and a memorial service will be held Jan 24, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Fuller Funeral Home, 1625 Pine Ridge Road, Naples.
