Francis “Frank” Leo Campanile, passed away peacefully, with family by his side, on Wednesday, December 1, 2017.  His family celebrates that he has joined his Heavenly Father and his wife, Frances, whom he has greatly missed every day since her passing in May 2015.

Frank, the son of Margaret (Desimone) and Leo Campanile,  was born in Syracuse, New York. He graduated from Christian Brothers Academy, Syracuse and attended the minor seminary in Rochester. Frank’s 66 year marriage to Frances Cognetto and his career with Oscar Mayer & Co led him to reside in Madison, WI, Mt. Prospect and Northbrook, IL, Davenport, IA, Cremona, Italy and Galena, IL before coming to Naples in the mid 80’s. Frank believed he was here to serve others. Frank was a devoted parishioner at St William Catholic Church and served as a Eucharistic Minister. Over the years in Naples, he volunteered with Meals on Wheels, Habitat construction in Immokalee, the NCH Emergency Room downtown, the Bentley Village Thrift shop, and as a “water boy” at the Bentley Care Center. Playing golf was one of his favorite pastimes. He cherished his time on the links with his family and friends.

Left to honor his memory are his children Amalia Campanile (Roger Schantz) of Naples, Dr. Christopher (Peg Boyle) Campanile, of Cranston RI, Mark (Terri) Campanile of Grayslake, IL and David Campanile of Western Springs, IL. Frank very  much enjoyed his times with his grandchildren - Sarah Campanile Wasaff, Maria, Grace and Dominick Campanile, Aaron and Lily Campanile Boyle, and Emili, Gina and Nate Campanile. Frank was also a great-grandfather, and Face Time with Maxwell and Keaton between visits gave him many moments of joy.

The visitation will be held at Fuller Funeral Home, 1625 Pine Ridge Road, Monday, December 4th from 6-8 PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 5th at 10 AM at St William Catholic Church, 601 Seagate Drive. The internment will be held at Naples Memorial Garden.

Our father believed education was the opportunity for each person to reach their full potential. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bentley Village Foundation - Wings Scholarship Program, 701 Retreat Drive, Suite 400, Naples, 34110.
