Lots of great memories were made over at the Straight household (and Blue Mountain Lake) from 3rd grade through high school. Gene always treated me like family and he will be sorely missed. Much love to Maureen, Brian and Daryl.

Maureen, Darryl and Brian, I was so sad to hear that Gene had passed away. He was a great boss and always looked out for his employees. He was always looking ahead and did so much to modernize our department. I never heard him get angry on the job and what a great sense of humor! What a great loss for you. Most sincerely, Mary White.

Maureen and family,
My deepest and heartfelt sympathies to all of you. Gene gave me the opportunity of a lifetime by giving me a job in Nuclear Medicine at Samaritan Hospital. A job that I loved for decades and I will be forever in his debt. I’m so sorry to hear of his passing. May he Rest In Peace.

Maureen, Darryl and Brian, Ed and I are so sorry to hear of Gene's passing. We have great memories of Gene at the hospital working with Ed. We enjoyed parties at your house on Tibbits Avenue too. May you find peace and comfort in the days and weeks ahead. Maybe we can join you next summer at Blue Mountain. Your family will be in our thoughts and prayers.

I just wanted to mention (for Darryl) that Gene also had an acting & modeling career which included an appearance on Burn Notice. It was exciting for him because it was one of his favorite shows. I will miss him.

Gene was a friend from high school, but a much closer friend from our adult years. He will be greatly missed among the Dunkirk High School Class of 1961.
