Gloria (Marinelli) Matulay 93, longtime resident of Naples, Florida passed into the arms of our Lord on Tuesday evening, April 10, 2018 at Avow Frances Georgeson Hospice House in Naples. Born July 7, 1924 in Newark, New Jersey, Gloria married her beloved husband, Fred in 1943 and later moved to Downingtown, PA before settling in Naples in 1973.
Always the center of anything family related, Gloria was Matriarch of the business, Matulay's Contractors Supply and Equip. Inc. She loved spending Sunday's with her family. World traveler, cookie baker, volunteer, voracious book reader, avid Marlin's fan, and active church member, Gloria always had a great story for anyone who joined her at the pool. She led a full and rich life, ready to try something new and different with her friends and family. She thoroughly enjoyed all the wonderful experiences life brought her way.
Preceded in death by her husband, Fred J.; her daughter, Patricia (Richard); and son Bruce (Mary Claire), she is survived by her children, Audrey C. Matulay and Edward (Trish) Matulay; 11 loving grandchildren; and 8 great-grand children.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 17 at St John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 625 111th Ave., Naples, FL at 1:00 p.m. In keeping with Gloria's spirit of generosity, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Avow Hospice, 1095 Whippoorwill Lane, Naples, Florida 34105.
