Grace Dunn DeHaan

Grace L. (Dunn) DeHaan, 86, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017, in Naples, Fla. Grace was born Aug. 6, 1930, to Willard and Mary (Mathe) Dunn of Alger, MI. From an early age, she demonstrated her strong personal trait of service to others, and after graduating high school in Sterling she attended and graduated from Hurley School of Nursing in Flint. She practiced as a registered nurse for several decades while residing in Burton, MI. She raised four children there with her husband of 61 years, William H. DeHaan. After retirement, she and her husband relocated to Marco Island, Fla., and split the seasons with their summer home in Gladwin, MI. Grace was one of Willard and Mary’s seven children, and was survived by siblings, Wanda McTaggart, John Dunn, Jim Dunn and Ernie Dunn. Also surviving and missing her greatly are husband, Bill; their children, Cheryl Purdue, Bill, Mark and Tom DeHaan; their seven grandchildren and two great-grandsons Jason, Nicholas, Rachael, Holden, Taylor, Madison, Lauren, Christian and Graham. Whether for family, friends, neighbors or her patents, Grace was tireless in her efforts to provide care for and serve others.
