“Without music, life would be a mistake”
Sept 11th, 2018 Gregory Allen Loscko slipped out of this party we call life just as the music stopped. He left us peacefully with his cherished son Anthony by his side.
Born October 26th 1948 in Columbus Ohio. Greg spent his formative years in the suburbs of Columbus where he formed lifelong friendships that continue to stand the test of time and beyond. Greg went on to serve in the Navy and later go on to become a pioneer in the field of cellular technology. Moving to Naples Florida in the early 2000's he became known to many as “uncle Greg” as he was a beloved part of the lives of countless friends whom grew up alongside his son Anthony. He loved spending his days playing golf or heading out on the boat with 'the boys' to catch a great sunset. His physical presence will be greatly missed by many, however his spirit remains, it's all around us. We will forever find it in the treasured songs and music that he loved- and used to connect us all. You can also find it in epic tales told by “chosen” brothers, like Billy & Greg Chapin, Kenny Levin, and Nicky Colasante. And it's found in his former wife/ long-time friend Linda Mennucci and her mother Ada "Mama B" Bevilacqua. But it’s especially found.. in every single buckeye win... GO BUCKS!
Most of all though, it’s in his beloved family. Greg is survived by his beautiful mother Claire Loscko, loving sister Renee (Loscko) Knezevich and brother in law and lifelong friend Nick Knezevich, their daughter and Gregs's adored niece Jana (Knezevich) Shahla and her husband Dr. Ziad Shahla, their twin boys Jacob and Elijah who love their Uncle Greg, as well as Renee and Nick’s son and “uncle Greg’s” original-buddy/namesake Greg Knezevich and loyal niece Jessamin (Newell) Knezevich. Lastly he is survived by his own children, perfect son (to him at least ;) Anthony Loscko and daughter Marissa Mennucci whom he never viewed as any less than his own.
Greg is preceded in death by his father Theodore (Ted) Loscko, his aunt Carol (Knight) Sykes, cousin Tommy Loscko, his aunt “Zia” Colangelo, his father in-law Eugenio Bevilacqua, Grandma Rose Chapin, and his “brother” John Jupinko. We would like to think the music upstairs is simply better. Maybe it was the lure of Zia’s lasagna, or Teddy Bears famous cabbage rolls but of one thing we are assured he is in fun and loving company.
A Mass will be held in Greg’s honor Friday, September 28th, at St John’ the Evangelist 625 111th ave. North Naples Florida 34108 at 8:30 am | Service at 10:00am | Celebration of life to follow!
