Tribute

On Monday, September 26, 2022, Heather Joy (Gibbs) Unsworth, loving wife, mother, and nana, passed from this life at the age of 43. She was a woman of faith who loved her Lord and His Church.

Heather lived life to the fullest.  She loved doing arts and crafts projects, especially with her grandchildren. She was protective of her family, friends, and the Green Bay Packers; do not mess with any of them – unless she was confronting any type of bird or falling iguanas, then you were on your own.

Heather was a kind and caring individual who would give the shirt off her back to someone in need, even if it was a Packer’s jersey (Brett Farve, not her Aaron Rodgers jersey).  She enjoyed volunteering with her friends throughout Southwest Florida, but she had a special spot in her heart for children.  She loved distributing food and drinks at the Catholic Charities family fun days in Naples and Immokalee, as well as giving Christmas toys to kids in underserved areas of Immokalee.

Two of Heather’s biggest joys were her two grandchildren, Enzo (4 years) and Elena (21 months), and music.  She said her calling was to be a nana and it was one that she did well and with great pride.  She took great pleasure in introducing her grandchildren to everything from Jason Aldean to Queen. Amazon and Apple Music will be missing her as much as her grandchildren.

Heather was preceded in death by her brother Scott Gibbs. She is survived by her husband Paul, her children, Alexandria and John-Patrick, two grandchildren, Enzo and Elena, her mother Hazel, her brother Mark, her sisters, Mary, Linda, Susan, Lisa, many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 7775 Vanderbilt Beach Drive, Naples, Florida 34120 at 11:30 am with fellowship and remembrance to follow in the Parish Hall.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to one of the charities that Heather cared deeply about:  Be the Light of SWFL, Inc.  (https://bethelightofswfl.org/donate)

Heather, we love you to the moon and back.
