Helen A. Van Nostrand, 88, of Naples, FL passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, November 4th with her family at her side. Born in Port Richmond, Staten Island, NY on December 8, 1929 to Anne (Lyman) and Fred Nouvertne, she attended PS-20 and graduated from Port Richmond High School, class of 1948.

Helen married Arthur Van Nostrand of Westerleigh, Staten Island on September 15, 1951. Arthur was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in the New York City Fire Department for 29 years. They resided on Staten Island until 1990 when they moved to South Daytona, FL where they lived for 25 years before moving to Naples in May of 2016.

Helen, nick-named "Rosie" by her husband, was a devoted wife and mother of four children. She was an avid bowler, enjoyed reading books and attending church. Most recently, as a resident of Discovery Village Naples, she enjoyed playing bingo, having meals with her friends, and practicing yoga.

Survived by her four children, son, Robert and wife, Pamela of Naples; daughter, Janet Colacurto and husband, Louis of Pleasant Plains, Staten Island; son, Arthur and wife, Pamela of Yardley, PA; daughter, Nancy Oaks and husband, Bill of Pacifica, CA; grandchildren, Jill Colacurto, Julie Colacurto, Arthur Van Nostrand and wife, Dana, Andrew Van Nostrand, Anne Oaks and Madeline Oaks; great grandchildren, Aiden and Marleigh Van Nostrand; Helen was predeceased by her adoring husband, Arthur in August, 2016 and her loving grandson, Louis Colacurto, Jr. in February 2011.

A private family gathering of remembrance will be held at Fuller Funeral Home, 4735 Tamiami Trail East on Tuesday, November 6th, 2018 at 8:30AM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Helen's memory may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or The Parent’s Project for Muscular Dystrophy.
