Joan M. Olin Obituary
Joan M. Olin 87 of Naples Fl., formerly of DeKalb, Ill., passed away on Friday, June 8, 2018 at her home. Born and raised in DeKalb, she was the daughter of William and Abby Oberg. Joan was a long-time employee of the DeKalb Public School System. She moved to Marco Island in 1980, where she enjoyed the island life prior to moving to Naples. Her life in Southwest Florida included working at the Naples Zoo, volunteering at St. Vincent De Paul Charities and membership in the Naples Women Fishing Club.
Survivors include two sons, Larry (Sheryl) Olin of Naples, Fl. and Robert Olin of Key West, Fl.; four grandchildren, Marc, Laura, Andy and Mitchell; four great grandchildren; her sister, Carolyn (Richard) Stinson of Rolling Meadows, Il.; and several nieces and nephews.
Joan was preceding in death by her parents; her husband of 40 years Swen Olin; and her brother William.
Visitation will be at the Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb on Monday, June 18, 2018 at 11:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow the service at the Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb.
