James A. Convery

James A. Convery was born in Philadelphia, PA on May 11, 1932. He received his BS and MA at LaSalle College and a MS at the University of Pennsylvania. He did doctoral studies at the University of Maryland.

Jim was a member of the De La Salle Christian Brothers from 1950 to 1967.

In 1967, Jim met his future wife, Helen in Washington, DC. They married in December, 1968 in Alexandria, VA. They have two beautiful daughters, Sheila Convery, born in 1970 and Kathleen (Andrew) Convery Diller M.D., born in 1971. Andrew and Katie have two children, Aoife, born in 2009 and Declan, born in 2011.

He was employed by Montgomery County, MD Public Schools for 30 years as a teacher and guidance counselor.

Jim died, peacefully, on September 29, 2019 at age 87.
