James "Jim" York, 77, of Naples, FL passed away peacefully at Moorings Park on December 16, 2021. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA on August 22, 1944. Jim served in the USAF. He was a plant manager, a member of St. Agnes Parish and the Knights of Columbus.
His easy going nature made him loved by all. Always a gentleman and always willing to help. Life's simple pleasures according to Jim: Dunkin Donuts and McDonald's with friends after Sunday mass, mash potatoes, Reese's peanut butter cups, dancing at Rowe and repairing most anything that broke.
Jim was predeceased by his late wife, Mary, of 42 years. He is survived by his fiancée, Diane Turney; his daughter and son-in-law, Lori and John Wright and 5 grandchildren: John Michael, Amanda, Joseph, Sarah, and Daniel James. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He had the ability to get down to the little one's level to play and always put his family first.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Contributions may be made in Jim's memory to Avow Hospice at www.avowcares.org.
