Jean Clare (Stuebchen) Szen

Szen, Jean Clare (Stuebchen) of Naples Florida died peacefully at home on October 5, 2021 at the age of 93; formerly of Sherborn and East Dennis, MA

Born in Buffalo NY  to Raymond Stuebchen and Edith (Barrett). She was married Sherwood H Szen for 61 years. 

She is survived by her children; David S Szen & his wife Pamela, Brookfield CT, Mark P Szen & his wife Nancy, Orange Ca and Susan J Szen, Naples FL and 5 grandchildren, Matthew S (Carolina Gamez), Timothy S (Diana Shum), Kyle A, Katherine A and Sarah E Szen-Bardwell (Chris), great-grand-children Kya M. Szen, Cayden Gamez and Claire Gamez.  

She had many loves and interests; her family, the Episcopal Church, education, traveling, and the arts.  She was President of the Episcopal Church Women; the first woman to chair the Standing Committee; the first woman to chair the Commission on Ministry; all in the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts.  Member of Boston Museum of Fine Arts Ladies Committee.  She was on the Board of Directors of the Walnut Hill School.  Member of the Natick Shakespeare Society, The English Speaking Union.  She was a 60+ year member of the DAR and an organizing member of the Naples-on-the-Gulf DAR Chapter, as well as its Chaplain.  Member of Myles Standish Chapter of the Mayflower Society.

Relatives and friends are invited to a celebration of life Eucharist and reception at Trinity-by-the-Cove Episcopal Church, 553 Galleon Dr, Naples, Monday October 18th at 2pm. The Service will also be live-streamed at Trinitybythecove.com

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Arch Angel Fund care of Trinity by the Cove.
