John Robert Aubuchon

John Robert “Bob” Aubuchon, 90, of Naples, Florida, passed away on Monday, March 19, 2018 after a three year battle with Mesothelioma Cancer.

Bob was born February 8, 1928 in St. Louis, Missouri, to Elverin “Rene” and Adelia (O’Grady) Aubuchon.  Following graduation from McBride High School, in 1946 he enlisted in the U.S. Army/Airforce. He proudly served as 1st Lieutenant and simultaneously attended St. Louis University. After graduating in 1952, he continued to serve in the US Air Force Reserves until 1961. 

On August 27, 1949 Bob married his favorite dance partner, Mary Jane Sargent. By 1964 they had seven children.

Bob was employed 44 years by the Kellogg Company. Starting out as a salesman throughout the Midwest and later transferring to the corporate offices in Battle Creek, Michigan.  He held management positions in Sales and Marketing and retired as Assistant, to the President, North America.  Bob was involved with his local community.  In 1972, he was elected President of the Harper Creek School Board, and in 1988, he was elected President to lead the first Hospice Board in Battle Creek, MI.

Throughout his retirement, Bob attended daily Mass, continued to golf, played Gin with Mary Jane and enjoyed talking to his children and grandchildren.   He served on the Tuscany Home Association Board, and was responsible for much of the beauty of their community by managing the landscaping and grounds.

Bob is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mary Jane, his sister Darlene (Jerry) Bilyk, his sons Kevin (Donna) Aubuchon, Tom Aubuchon; daughters, Renee (Rudy) Ramos, Denise (Brad) Evans, Michelle (Dave) Gilmore, Leslie Avery, Danielle Kithcart; grandchildren, Jackie, Erin, Greg, Lindsey, Morgan, Taylor, Suzanne, Eric, Kellen, Bryan, Blake, Jessica, Austin, Alex, Maddie, Rachael, Sean, Bobby, John, Erika , Jack, 16 greatgrandchildren, and many nieces & nephews.

 He was preceded in death by his parents, Rene and Adelia, and his brother’s Tom and Don Aubuchon.
