John Joseph DeMita, 74, died peacefully, surrounded by his family on September 25, 2018.
John was born on May 21, 1944 in Long Island City, New York. John attended Long Island City High School, Queens College and advanced studies at Brown University. Along with his family, was a resident of Long Island, New York and Ridgefield, Connecticut. In 2008, he and his wife retired to Naples, Florida.
John was a pioneer in the Information Technology Sector and an executive for multiple U.S. Banks. He served as a leader and mentor to many colleagues, employees and customers. Over five decades he successfully designed, developed and integrated advanced banking systems. Affectionately known as the computer guru and family pc/mac “help” desk, he was always happy to resolve any IT issue.
John is survived by his wife, Irene A. DeMita, daughters Michelle and Janine, brothers Michael and Francis, nieces, nephews and friends. John is predeceased by his sister Florence. He is loved and will be greatly missed.
A memorial to celebrate John’s life will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Fuller Funeral Home, located on Tamiami Trail East, Naples Fl, from 2pm - 4pm.
