John Sidney Golec

John Sidney Golec, 62, of Marco Island, FL, formerly of Contoocook, NH, passed away at Avow Hospice in Naples, FL on October 29th, 2018. Son of the late Ralph Alexander Golec and Patricia Florence (nee Sabins) Golec, John was born in Bellows Falls, VT, one of five children. He completed his bachelor's degree in business and went on to an interesting career as a lighting engineer and audio visual consultant. He worked for both the Marriott and Ritz Carlton resorts in Marco Island and Naples. He also donated his talents to many successful productions with the Marco Players.

John faithfully served at Family Church (of Marco Island) for more than a decade. A 'behind-the-scenes" kind of guy, every Thursday and Sunday you'd find him programming and running the lights for every church service. During the week, John could often be found taking care of the baptismal, among many other things around the church building. John was an integral part of the Annual Sunrise Service on the beach every year, a blessing to locals and visitors alike. He often referred to the church as his personal sanctuary. He always enjoyed times of food and fellowship.

John will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Brenda (nee Komazec); his mother, Patricia; his three children, Jacob Alexander, Joseph Aaron, and Jenna Angel; his sisters and brother, Angela Marie Carter, Michelle Lynn Crathern and Michael Leon Golec. In addition to his father, John was preceded in death by his brother, Ralph Alexander Golec, Jr.
