Johnny Wayne Weems

Mr. Johnny Wayne Weems of Naples and Punta Gorda passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, May 11, 2019 after a short battle with cancer. He was born April 13, 1944 in Winnsboro, Texas. He was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Margaret and his beloved son, Christopher. He is survived by his daughter Susan, his son Stephen, and his grandchildren Meagan and Evan. Johnny served in the United States Air Force for more than 20 years and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He received numerous commendations including the Bronze Star. He worked with NASA and the space launch program as Chief Weather Officer during his military service and later as a civilian with Civil Service. Johnny's happiest times were spent fishing with family and friends in Florida waters as well as trips to Canada, Costa Rica and his home state of Texas. He will always be remembered as an exceptional husband, father, grandfather, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin, friend, colleague, student and much more to all who were blessed to know him. We will forever love and miss his unforgettable presence in this world.
