Joseph Thomas O'Leary

Joseph Thomas O’Leary, Senior, 71, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Naples, Florida on September 27, 2019. Born on April 9, 1948 in Boston, Massachusetts and raised in Dorchester, Massachusetts, he was the beloved husband of the late Marita Bavaro O’Leary.

While working at the United States Post Office in Boston as an American Postal Worker Union Steward, he met and fell in love with Marita to whom he shared fifteen years of marriage.
Joseph is survived by his children Gina O'Leary (Joseph Martin) and Joseph O'Leary, Jr;, by his grandchildren Marita and Ethan Martin; by his brother Dennis O'Leary of Florida; and by many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and lifelong friends in both Florida and Massachusetts.
Joseph was a proud United States Marine Corps gunner and served in the Vietnam War. He was a loving husband, father, and Papa. He coached for Greater Naples Little League and was the owner of City Cab of Naples & Bonita. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was well known for his sense of humor and his wit as well as helping others and helping to support his brothers in the service.
The son of the late Josephine (Conroy) O'Leary and the late Daniel O'Leary Sr., Joe was also predeceased by his dear brothers Daniel O'Leary of Naples, and Richard O'Leary of Massachusetts, his sister, Nancy O'Leary of Massachusetts, his father-in-law and mother-in law, Ralph and Juanita Bavaro of Peabody, Massachusetts, and his nephew Daniel Luz of Peabody, Massachusetts.
