Joseph Charles Stenza, 47, of Naples, husband of Ellen (Olson) Stenza, died unexpectedly at home on Nov. 5. In addition to his wife, he is survived by their children, Allison Brock Stenza and Joseph Aaron Stenza; his parents, Joseph and Catherine Stenza of Naples; his mother-in-law, Elaine Olson of Naples; his sisters, Lisa Catanese and her husband Paul of Coventry, CT, and Gina Pin and her husband Marc of Ridgefield, CT; his nieces, Kristina Catanese and her husband Chris Zachau and their son Maxwell, and Catherine Pin; his nephews, Michael Catanese, Andrew Catanese, and Daniel Pin and his wife Kelly and their children Amelia and Benjamin; and his brother-in-law Edwin Olson and his wife Hilary Carter and their children Cleo and Emil Olson. Joseph was a current member of the Cornerstone United Methodist Church in Naples and was a former member of the Community of Faith in Davenport, FL, where he was involved in mission trips to locations such as the Dominican Republic and Haiti. He was a dedicated Hospice volunteer at Avow, where he often brought his therapy dog Quincy to comfort patients there and at nursing homes. He was on the School Advisory Council at Pine Ridge Middle School, coached soccer for many years, and organized group walks for bariatric surgery patients. A celebration of Joseph's life will be held at Cornerstone United Methodist Church on Saturday, Nov. 10, at 11am. In lieu of flowers, the family is suggesting donations to Cornerstone United Methodist Church, 8200 Immokalee Road, Naples, FL 34119, or to the ASBMS Walk for Obesity, fundraise.asmbsfoundation.org (search Joseph Stenza's page), or to a charity of your choice. In loving memory of Joe Stenza, a loved father, son, friend, and husband.
