Josiah Lasell Smith, 95, of Naples, FL, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, Jan. 1, 2021
He had been a resident of Naples for 10 years, after moving from Leesburg, FL and previously Elk Grove Village, IL. He was retired from the Bank of Elk Grove where he was a Vice-President. Josiah was also a United States Army World War II Veteran having served in the European African Middle Eastern Campaign at the 57th Field hospital as a Medical Technician 5th Grade. Josiah is survived by his children Josiah Lasell Smith, Jr., Christopher Cummings (Regina) Smith, Patricia Ann (Michael) Pence, and Edward Joseph Smith; his grandchildren, Josiah Lasell (Jennifer) Smith, III, Michael Frank Smith, Kristen (Andrew) Eckardt, Kelly (Jared) Blumenberg, Erin Smith, Kelsey (James) Kemling, great-grandchildren, Sarah, David, Jayden, Emma, Noah, Jonah, and many nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Muriel Cummings Smith; his father Earle Smith; mother; Margaret Lasell Smith; brother, Earle Smith; sister, Nancy Earle Wolff, daughter-in-law, Carolyn Grace Smith (Josiah, Jr.)
A memorial service and interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, 2501 E Euclid Avenue, Arlington Heights, IL at a later date. Services will be announced when they are scheduled.
