Juanita C Weldon

On June 5th, 2017, Eric and Juanita Weldon had their 63rd wedding anniversary. Juanita, suffering from a brain tumor, was sedated and unaware. On June 9th, Eric was privileged to be holding her hand as Juanita slipped peacefully into Eternity to be with her Lord.

Juanita was born February 17, 1934 to Clyde and Edith (Holloway) Clifton between Jerome and Deep Lake, FL. Her life was marked by her spirit of adventure. She panned for gold in Alaska and British Columbia and went tent camping in the deep northern wilderness.

Her first love was Everglades City and her church. She loved producing the annual "Hanging of the Green" and working in Vacation Bible School; she knew each child was special. Juanita will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Eric; son, Jeffrey (Geovanna) of Oakdale, LA; daughter, Debra (Robert) of Chula Vista, CA; sisters, Betty Jo of Kinston, AL, Birdie (Carol) of Bayboro, NC; brothers Clyde "Buster" (Jean) of O'Brien, FL; four grandsons; numerous nieces and nephews all of whom she loved deeply.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 24th, 11:00AM at First Baptist Church of Everglades City.
