Judith Ann (DeBolt) McNamara

July 19, 1936 ~ June 19, 2021 (age 84) 84 Years Old

Tribute

On June 19, 2021, Judith Ann McNamara, age 84, went home peacefully to be with the Lord.  Judy was born in Pontiac, Illinois on July 19, 1936 to Gilbert and Rosemary DeBolt.  She had one sibling, a brother whom she adored, Retired Lt. Col. James DeBolt (Nancy).  Judy grew up in the Chicago area, and spent summers fishing and swimming in Brainerd, Minnesota and Northern Wisconsin.  Her family members were avid hunters and loved being outdoors.

In the sixth grade, Judy met her lifelong dearest friend, Lois Sone.  The two of them attended Aquinas High School in Chicago and were in each other’s weddings.  They were inseparable for a few years while they helped each other with their small children, and although they were separated by many miles, they continued to be close friends their entire lives.

Judy met the love of her life, John, at a high school sock-hop.  Judy and John celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary in June 2019, before John went to heaven in August 2019.  They had a loving, blessed, fruitful life together.  Judy was fully supportive of John’s lucrative career, which led to 20 moves, crisscrossing the country.  Judy had a successful plan on how to make each move smooth for the entire family.

The couple had four children: Mike (Connie), Patti (Dave), Pam (Tim), and Julie (John).  Judy had a special connection with each of her 12 grandchildren: Kelly (Josh), Danielle (Casey), Randi (Josh), Joey (Emily), Dani, Jenny (Dan), Bridget (Dillon), Ellen, Riley, Stephen, Erin and Michael.  Judy loved attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, dance recitals, graduation (from kindergarten to graduate school) and military inductions. Her most precious gift to them and their children was her daily quiet time with the Lord when she would pray for each of them by name.

Judy was fiercely competitive in golf, bridge, mahjong, and any other game she found herself playing, even against her great grandbabies.  She treasured all 19 great grandbabies: Reece, Addison, Hunter, Warren, Brooks, Jax, William, Rosie, Logan, Mac, Tate, Molly, Max, Mike, Kirby, Patti, Millie, Wayve, and Connor—all of whom are under the age of eleven.  She loved being their GGmom.

Judy’s favorite past times were reading, attending the theater, and golfing with John.  Judy and John enjoyed dancing, traveling and spending time with their growing family.

Judy was a member of Covenant Church of Naples where she found great joy in attending numerous Bible studies, small group fellowships, and Stephen Ministry training.  Judy and John were very generous to many organizations that were dear to them, including Youth Haven, Pregnancy Resource Centers in Naples and Ashland, Wisconsin, NCH Hospital, Covenant Church and Grace Place.  Judy was dedicated to sharing the Gospel of Christ and helping others.  She cherished not only her family but her friends.  A special thank you from Judy’s family to those friends that loved and supported her and were by her side these past eight months as she fought a fierce battle against cancer.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 31 at 2:30 PM at Covenant Church of Naples, 6926 Trail Blvd., Naples, FL 34108.  Following the service, please join the family for a time of fellowship.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Judy’s name to Covenant Church of Naples, Deacon/Mercy Ministry Fund (6926 Trail Blvd., Naples, FL. 34108).
