It is with great sadness that the family of Karen Ann Rappa, 59, of Naples Florida, announces her passing on Sunday, May 19, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer. Karen passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones. Karen was an amazing wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend to all who loved her. She was born in Brooklyn, NY and was a graduate of Brick High School, as well as, The Chubb Institute of Technology. Upon graduation she was hired by Chubb as Program Analyst and quickly promoted to Senior Analyst. Karen enjoyed bike riding, playing pickleball, time at the beach and reading. Karen is survived by her devoted husband of 39 years, Joseph Rappa and her loving son Joseph Anthony Rappa. Karen and Joe lived in Staten Island before retiring to Naples, Florida in 2016. Karen is also survived by her mother, Ruth Amatucci of Brick, New Jersey and her five siblings; brother Edward Byrnes, Beachwood, NJ, brother Christopher Byrnes and wife Christine Byrnes, Manahawkin, NJ, sister Joanne Neavear, Brick, NJ, sister Maryanne Woliner and husband Dan Woliner, Point Pleasant, NJ and brother Robert Byrnes and wife Tara Byrnes, Toms River, NJ as well as many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Visiting will take place on Tuesday evening May 21, 2019 from 6:00-9:00 at Fuller Funeral Home, 1625 Pine Ridge Road, Naples, FL 34109. Karen’s life celebration mass will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at Saint William Catholic Church, 601 Seagate Drive, Naples, FL, 34108 at 10:00am. Following the funeral service all guests are invited to Miramare Ristorante, 4236 Gulf Shore Boulevard North, Naples, FL 34103. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center at giving.mskcc.org.
