Kevin Martin Willkomm, 32, died Monday, August 5 in Naples, FL. Kevin was born the youngest of five, in New Orleans, LA on September 13, 1986 as a precious gift to his mother on her own birthday. His family moved to Naples in 1989.
Kevin was a lovable, funny, caring man, a friend to everyone, a devoted son and beloved brother to his surviving parents and siblings. He took the greatest pride in his role as an uncle to his 6 nieces and nephews, playing with them any chance he could, like a big kid himself. Kevin loved to talk to people and get to know them, he never met a stranger.
Wrestling was Kevin’s first passion, beginning at only 4 years old. His love and incredible talent for the sport was evident as he excelled, winning the 2000 AAU Ironman World Wrestling Championship, going undefeated, and unscored upon, in 3 different styles of wrestling.
Kevin was a proud 2004 graduate and top member of the wrestling team at Naples High School. He went on to the University of South Florida followed by Ave Maria University Law School, graduating in 2015 with his Juris Doctorate. He quickly became a well-loved attorney to his colleagues and clients in the community.
He is survived by his mother and father Mary and Bill Willkomm of Alva, his brother Conrad (Lindsay) of Naples, brother Christopher (Monica) of Sarasota, his sister Kimberly of Naples, his nephews William and Lucas, and nieces Hallie, Dylan, Claire, and Keeley. He was predeceased in death by his beloved brother William “Billy.”
Kevin will be so dearly missed by his family, and many friends he’s made along the way. He brought so much love and care of others everywhere he went. We will cherish our memories, his smile, and his infectious laugh forever. “God has you in His keeping, we have you in our hearts.”
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, August 10, from 10:00-11:00 am at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 985 3rd St. S. in Naples followed by a Funeral Mass Service at 11:00 am.
