Laura Mae Schott

Laura Mae (nee Barry) Schott, 87, of Naples, FL passed away in her sleep on November 10th 2017. She was met by the love of her life, "Big Jim", at the pearly gates.

Laura was the matriarch of her family and helped raise her five siblings. She loved being around her family both near and far. Family time was important to her as was her church activities. You would often find Laura folding the church bulletins on Friday afternoons. There would always be a good story and laughter around the table or at Ansco Lake in upstate NY. Laura was also known for her interesting cooking recipes that included cleaning out the refrigerator to make a special homemade soup.

Laura is survived by her two sons, Ed (Patricia) Schott, of Raleigh, NC and Jim (Christine) Schott of Naples; six grandchildren, Lori, Joe, Katie, Jen, Courtney, and Kenzi; 9 great-grandchildren, Dylan, Gabby, Taylor, Kara, McKenna, Allison, Kyle, Cameron Michael and Colton Joseph; one sister, Rose Malloy; two brothers, Charles (Carolyn) and Ralph (Marlene) Barry; numerous nieces and nephews that she loved dearly along with special friends, Lourdes, Karina, Mark and Mitchell.

In addition to her beloved husband, Jim, Laura was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Louis and Ida Augusta (nee Quick) Barry and two of her siblings, Beverly and Dick.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 18th at Fuller Funeral Home, 4735 Tamiami Trail East, Naples 34112. The family will receive guests at 5:00 PM. The funeral service will begin at 6:00PM.
